This is one of those places like you'd see on a Travel or Food network show. You MUST try this if you are in town. Simple but astounding food.

Always part of my infrequent visits to Gainesville. Wonderful old fashioned burgers and fresh cut fries. Real ice cream shakes and MALTS.

Only reason I'm giving a 4 is due to the tasty burgers here. Otherwise I'd say this place probably a 3. Not sure if I'm being harsh, but when I order a burger you expect fries, but in style of places like 5 guys they are separate (though it's a large amount you get). Either way would recommend getting any of the burgers, also staff is exceptionally friendly. Sometimes it gets pretty busy, I recommend.

The hot dogs where not good quality hot dogs and it was a long wait for the food as well as expensive

If you want home made burgers, this is def the spot...has an old school feel to it and I just advise if your passing through or live here to at least try it once!!! AMAZING!

Great cheeseburger. Fries were over cooked, but are usually perfect. The cook and his buddy we're loudly yaking for fully 15 minutes. Attentive, free soda refill, table service. Main Street has reopened!

Great burger, authentic oldschool feel. Lot of cool local memorabilia and photos on the walls. Besides burgers the menu is pretty limited. Would definitely visit again.

Still fantastic after all these years! Jeff and the gang are simply awesome! Chopped Steak burgers are still one of my all-time favorites and the fries are still just like I have always remembered them. Takes me back to my childhood every time I walk through the door.

The Collegiate is a great old college diner that knows what it does well and sticks to it. Great fries, burgers, and dogs are the order of the day.Not great for gluten free or vegan folks, but wheelchair folks will have no problem.

Bestest home made Patty burger not frozen fries a large is no joke more gooder than frozen wantabees if y'all need snak order from kids. Be hungry. Order small large is like two meals any where else love 💘 love home made FRIES!!!!🍟 more gooder

The hype about this place is 1000% correct. It's a rare find and I definitely recommend going if you've never been. The food is awesome and the staff is so friendly, prices aren't bad either.

This diner has history. You walk in and you can feel it. Sitting on the covered deck, I was able to listen to the sounds of the city and the musical birds in the nearby trees, with an occasional light breeze. Very comfortable.I had a chocolate shake, hand-spun, perfectly blended. A cheese burger with grilled onions, which had just the right amount of grease, and chili cheese fries, which had a ton of cheese and chili.The waitress, Rachel, was cordial and full of southern hospitality, just a pleasure to be around, had great energy. I will definitely be returning anytime I have a hankering for a burger and shake.

We were looking for somewhere different to eat and found Collegiate Grill. This place reminds you more of a small local neighborhood diner with a fifties to sixties motif. Let me tell you, this place was fantastic. The staff was very welcoming and very professional while the food was great. I'll definitely eat here again.

Funny thing is, I hadn't been to the Collegiate Grill in probably 15 years. Before this. So I just ordered what i would back then. Grilled cheese with pickles tomatoes and bacon. And shows how much my sister and I are alike. Because we were not together when we gave dad the our order and the only difference is I got my bacon on the side. Lol! always good times at the Collegiate Grill

For a family of four we ate for under $30! The food is absolutely delicious! A quick bite, friendly service, and our waitress detailed us and on the menu and saved us a couple dollar, by getting nmore bang for our buck. Recommend. 💯

When you step into this place you are instantly transported back to a different time. This place offers not only a feeling of nostalgia but a great meal as well. The menu is simple but that is what makes it so wonderful. Nothing fancy, nothing over done just great food and desserts. I had a bacon cheeseburger with some fries and nothing gets more American than that. The burger was well cooked and the fries were just perfect. You top that off with absolutely amazing service and cheap prices and you have a great spot to eat no matter what time of day it is.

Delicious burgers and fries in a very nice 50s diner setting. The burgers were grilled to perfection, the bacon was crisp, toppings fresh and the buns are delicious. The fries are natural cut and crispy. The diner is clean and the service friendly and prompt.

Staff was very aware of you. Friendly. Place was clean and comfortable. Food was good at a decent price.

Great old diner feel! I came with a friend at one of the busiest times so it took 40 minutes for our hamburgers and fries to come out. Their “large shareable” fries are really just the size of the little fries from 5 Guys. I recommend coming during a time you’re not on your lunch break so you won’t feel rushed when the food comes out.

They are the best, friendliest people, serving the best all around food.

Absolutely loved our first visit, cant believe we never tried it before. Great quality food, excellent atmosphere, super clean place and super friendly staff! Definitely NOT The Varsity, like I expected, and while the service was fast I wouldnt categorize this place as just another "fast food" joint. Looking forward to next time :)

Stopped for a quick snack and cherry coke. Coke was great, fries were amaze balls. Son said best he’s ever had. Will be back to check out their main courses

Why have I never heard of Collegiate Grill. This place is one of the best hamburgers I have ever had. Simple...Great Place. Nothing fancy....just Good
